At Java Productions Ltd., we have recently reviewed our procedures regarding our use of data, to ensure that we are fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) of May 2018. We have sent this notification out to all our clients and it is now held on our website as a constant source of reference for potential and new customers.
WEBSITE DATA COLLECTION
Java Productions don’t collect any personal data on our website, all our clients come from recommendation, so our website is simply a tool to confirm what we do to interested parties and advise of our contact details.
We specialise in B2B PR and marketing support so consumer data is not handled. We only hold on file contact details of our direct clients and we communicate with them directly as they have a legitimate interest in our business.
CLIENT DATA
We do carry out e-marketing on behalf of our clients, all of which is produced through email providers like Mailchimp, via our clients accounts. Each of these providers are themselves compliant to GDPR and all e-mails sent through their system hold an option for the recipient to unsubscribe which is strictly policed.
As a ‘Data Processor” Java Productions ensure that all data is processed responsibly, securely and only for the purpose for which it was collected. On occasions clients may ask us to upload email data on their behalf to one of the above email providers. We advise our clients that as Data Controllers they have a responsibility to ensure that the personal data they collect is done with full knowledge of the data subject and, where appropriate, demonstrate the subjects consent or a legitimate interest to receive marketing communications.
We insist any data sent to Java Productions from our clients is provided in a password protected file and we advise our clients that once loaded, the source file is permanently deleted and not held on any of Java Productions systems.
We do not sell, trade or rent any personal information we handle to 3rd parties.
PRESS DATA
We hold a small contact database of names, emails and telephone numbers of journalists relevant to the clients we support for PR. These business press contacts have a legitimate interest in being provided with news from our clients and should they ask to be removed from the database this will be carried out with immediate effect. The files are securely held and we never share the data with 3rd parties.
EMAIL PROVIDERS
Mailchimp is a 3rd party processor of our clients data.
